Today is Saturday 3/9/2024.
My name is Becca and I’m a 31 year of software engineer. I grew up and never left Vermont. I studied electrical engineering at Vermont Technical College and then switched to software after a few years of making circuit boards and writing firmware. Currently, I write full stack software for .NET websites.
I grew up on a dairy farm and I love most animals. I love playing music, I play several instruments and like to sing. I also enjoy crafting and creating art.
I started the Vermont Talks podcast back in 2019. I enjoy talking with people around the state who are working on interesting projects.
I started this blog to begin writing about my career and what I’m currently learning and what I have used in the past.
I’m in the process of completing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Southern New Hampshire University online. I’m also taking as many ACE credits as possible through Sophia and Study.com to speed the process along.
I dream of someday getting a master’s degree and possibly a PhD, though I would like to study astrophysics a bit and do some scientific modeling as well.
I also plan on writing and releasing my own app, likely on android to start since the ios registration process and fees are a bit prohibitive for developers who don’t want to spend a bunch of money immediately.
Having the experience I do, I know many students looking to get into software can appreciate my words of wisdom and feedback.
